Because the majority of our lifestyle accessories, apparel, and custom prints are handcrafted directly in our local studio, our shipping framework accounts for both production and courier transit timelines. Please read our delivery guidelines carefully before finalizing your purchase.
1. Delivery Zones & Flat-Rate Tiers
We offer reliable shipping options across South Africa, divided into local studio fulfillment and nationwide courier networks:
- Local Studio Pickup (Free Collection): Available for clients residing in or visiting Gqeberha. Ready-made stock is typically prepared within 1–2 business days. For made-to-order, custom, or back-order items, please allow up to 5 business days for studio fabrication. We will contact you directly via email or WhatsApp with collection address details and hours once your order is packaged.
- PostNet-to-PostNet (R115.00 flat rate): Estimated transit time is 2–3 business days from dispatch. Important: It is the customer’s responsibility to specify their preferred PostNet Branch name in the “Order Notes” box during checkout.
- The Courier Guy (Door-to-Door – R150.00 flat rate): Estimated transit time is 1–3 business days from dispatch. Please Note: This flat rate applies strictly to Major Centres and metropolitan hubs within South Africa.
2. Outlying, Rural & Regional Area Surcharges
- Surcharge Warning: If your delivery address is located outside a major city center—including remote areas, farms, small plots, mines, power stations, or high-risk areas—standard commercial courier surcharges will apply.
- Action Required: If you reside in an outlying area, please select PostNet-to-PostNet at checkout or Contact Us prior to payment to receive a bespoke door-delivery quote. Lizzie Rue reserves the right to hold shipments or invoice customers for outstanding delivery surcharges if an outlying address is entered under a major center rate.
3. Production Lead Times vs. Transit Times
- Please note that choosing an express or overnight shipping option does not bypass our studio production schedules. Courier transit windows commence strictly after your items have been handmade, printed, or processed in accordance with the timelines established in Section 4 of our main Terms and Conditions.
4. Tracking, Ownership, and Risk of Loss
- Tracking Numbers: Once your package leaves our Gqeberha studio, an automated email or SMS containing your unique tracking number and courier tracking link will be sent to you.
- Transfer of Risk: The risk of loss, damage, or destruction of the goods passes to the customer the moment the package is collected from our studio by the courier or deposited at a PostNet branch. Lizzie Rue is not liable for delayed transit times, package theft, or courier negligence, though we will assist you in lodging inquiries with the relevant service provider.
Unclaimed Parcels: If a door-delivery fails after multiple attempts due to customer absence, or if a PostNet parcel remains unclaimed beyond their standard retention window, the items will be returned to our studio. The customer will be held liable for any return-to-sender fees and the secondary shipping costs required to re-route the package.
